At the age of 45, she suffered from several diseases until she tested negative at the age of 60 for most of the diagnosed diseases for which she tested positive at 45.

In 1982 Dele Momodu graduated from the University of Ife (now known as Obafemi Awolowo University) with a degree in Yoruba.

In addition, he received his Master’s degree in English Literature from Ife University in 1988.

After graduating from the Yoruba Department of Ife University in 1982, he began teaching as an NYSC candidate at the Oyo State College of Arts and Science in Ile-Ife until 1983.

At the end of his teaching tenure, he served as his private secretary under the former deputy governor of Ondo State, Chief Akin Omoboriowo, from 1983 to 1985.

In 1986 he worked as manager of the Motel Royal Limited under the management of Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II.

Later he took up further studies in English literature, which he completed with a Master’s degree.

During this period of study at the University of Ife, he began writing articles for newspaper publications in Nigeria, including ThisDay, The Guardian, and The Sunday Tribune.

On July 30, 2016, Dele Momodu received his doctorate with the title “Doctor of Humane Letters” from the University of Professional Studies, Accra, Ghana.

Journalistic Career
Dele Momodus’s career began in 1988 when he secured a position as a staff writer. He wrote for the African Concord magazine, owned by the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola.

In 2017 Dele became a pioneer of the staff and was now transferred to Weekend Concord, where he wrote the first cover story for Weekend Concord in 1989.

In addition to the aforementioned publications in which Dele Momodu has been involved, he also wrote articles for the Yoruba Newspaper, Sunday Concord, National Concord, and others.

Dele Momodu quickly rose to the literary editor and was later promoted to news editor of the Weekend Concord publication, where he was transferred to by African Concord magazine.

In May 1990, Dele Momodu rose to become one of the highest-paid editors after he achieved an appointment as editor of a celebrity magazine called May Ellen Ezekiel’s Classique.

He eventually gave up publishing and ventured into the business as a bread distributor for Wonderloaf – a bread company owned by the late Chief Moshood Abiola.

Distinguished honors
He then founded Celebrities-Goodwill Limited, a public relations organization that managed the accounts of celebrities in Nigeria, including Dr. Mike Adenuga and Bello-Osagie.

After retiring from bread distribution, he joined the Moshood Abiola Presidential Campaign Organization in 1993.

Imprisoned for broadcasting views
After Babangida annulled the Nigerian presidential elections on June 12th, Dele Momodu was sought, caught and arrested in Alagbon Close in Lagos State, Nigeria, for propagating the democratic creed, broadcasting his personal opinions and being accused of being the mastermind behind Radio Freedom – a radio station that was labeled a pirate station.

Fortunately, he fled Nigeria to Cotonou, disguised as a local farmer. From Cotonou, Republic of Benin, Dele Momodu moved to Togo and then to Ghana.

He finally settled in the United Kingdom, where he stayed until the charges against him were resolved.

Birthing Ovation International
He founded Ovation International in 1996 and was able to return to Nigeria after the death of Sani Abacha. Unfortunately, his mentor at that time, MKO Abiola, was executed in prison before that time.

Over time, Ovation International has become a well-known magazine in Africa, with a focus on celebrities, and is published in two of Africa’s most spoken and understood languages – English and French.

Starting in 2008 Dele Momodu will organize an annual event called Ovation Carol and Awards.

The event is organized in December and is a famous Christmas ceremony in West Africa.

Although the maiden edition of the event started in 2008, the event was not held in 2010 due to the political affair, the presidential elections that took place in 2010.

Presidential Aspiration
On 12th January 2011 Dele Momodu became the presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP) and won the primaries against Atei Beredugo and Chief Martin Onovo.

Family and private life
Dele Momodu is currently married and has four children with Mobolaji Abiodun Momodu.

The couple married on December 19, 1992, and had their first child, Pekan Momodu, in 1994. In 1996 they welcomed their second child, Yole Momodu.

In 1997 Dele Momodu and his wife had their third child, Eniafe. And in 2004 they introduced their fourth child, Korewa.
