Some are confused on how to know if there NIN is successfully linked to there line. Well, don’t panic you are at the right place. Here are the steps to know if your NIN is successfully linked already to your line.
The Nigerian government had earlier announced that January 19 as deadline for Nigerians who have National identification number to update their sim with their NIN while mobile subscribers that has never registered for national identification number, the deadline to update their sim with NIN is February 9, 2020. But now, the presidency has come to update to Nigerians that those who have not linked their sim with their national identification number will all have their sims blocked a from February 9, 2020.
As the deadline approaches, this is how to know whether you have successfully linked your NIN to your sim.
-To Know If You Have Linked Your NIN To Your Mtn Line.
The code that subscribers are asked to dial is *785#
After you have dialed the USSD code, you will be given an option to input your NIN, after you have punched in your 11 digits number, it will immediately bring a message that they have successfully received your NIN. This is how the message will be.
‘‘Yello! Your NIN has been successfully received. Kindly note that this is subject to verification, as all NINs will be validated by NIMC. Thank you’’
As you can see above, it is written that it will be the national identity management commission that will verify the NIN you have submitted to your network.
Within some days, NIMC will send you a message through MTN whether your line has now successfully been linked. This is the message that you will receive.
‘‘Yello, your NIN submission is successful. Submit for your other MTN number also by dialing *785*your NIN# from each line, to avoid disconnection. Thank you!”
You can also continue dialing the code and inputting your until it shows that message
-To Know If You Have Linked Your NIN To Your GLO Line.
For glo, you can link your NIN via text message to 109. You can also dial *109*yourNIN#, then you will be asked to input your first and last name.
Within some days, NIMC will send you a message through GLO whether your line has now been successfully linked.
You can also continue dialing the code until it shows that your NIN has been successfully submitted
-To Know If You Have Linked Your NIN To Your 9mobile Line
You are to dial *200*8#(after you must submitted your NIN earlier).
It will bring two options, whether you want to verify if you have linked your NIN to your 9mobile sim or you just want to link it.
Press 1 and send. It will later bring a message to show whether you have successfully linked your NIN to your sim. This is message you are supposed to see
‘‘Congratulations! Your NIN has been linked successfully to your mobile number. Thank you for choosing 9mobile’’.

-To Know If You Have Linked Your NIN To Your AIRTEL Line
If you have submitted your NIN to your AIRTEL line after dialing *121*1#,you will be immediately sent a message. This is how the message will be
‘‘Thank you for providing your NIN details. SMS confirmation will ne sent to you once your NIN has been validated and updated’’
Within some days, AIRTEL will send you a message whether your NIN has now successfully been linked. This is how the message will be.

‘‘Dear customer, your NIN submission was successful. You can also link your other AIRTEL numbers to your NIN by dialing *121*1#’’
If you haven’t seen any message like this, continue dialing the USSD code.
What You Need To Take Note Of Is:
i. you will be asked to send your NIN either by dialing or via text message[only inputting your NIN doesn’t mean you have linked your sim to your NIN)
ii. you will be immediately sent a message that your NIN has been received and subject to verification by NIMC.
iii. it is the last message that you will receive that will show whether your NIN has now been successfully linked or your NIN submission is successful
You need the last message because you might have mistakenly entered 10 digit or 12 digit number thinking whether it is your correct 11 digit NIN
